Anti-Smoking Movement in Lebanon… Will it affect LAU?


There seems to be an anti-smoking movement in Lebanon. Already a new draft law approved by the Lebanese Administration and Justice Commission bans smoking in public places (particularly indoors) in Lebanon in addition to approving the placing of a label that should be half the size of the cigarette pack to warn against smoking. Lebanon is known for the high smoking rates and reliance on tobacco. I wonder how our LAU students are going to react to this…

Hopefully people will learn that smoking around others, in other words, causing second rate smoking, harms the people around them more than the smokers themselves to a ratio of 7:3…

But Lebanese have always been too selfish to consider others before themselves…
